It became quite evident by the looks on their faces, as well as their aggressive body language, that something was about to go down….and it wasn’t looking too good for Sandra. This fight wouldn’t be an easy one.
It’s one thing to talk about what to do when protecting yourself against one assailant, but what should you do when there’s more than one? Obviously, this kind of scenario can be a lil tricky, and scary, if you don’t know what you’re doing.
While I would not want to be caught in such a situation without my handy-dandy sidekick (firearm), it’s quite understandable that not everyone is comfortable with that type of protection. And even if you are, it’s also quite possible that firearms may be unlawful where you reside. So what do you do now?
Find an exit or a way out
Don’t wait until you are approached before you decide now is the time to exit. By this time, it may be too late. If there is still space between you and the aggressors, now is the time for you to put on your whoodini act and get as far away from the scene as possible.
Talk your way out of it
So you missed your opportunity to dash and now they are ready to pounce. This is not the point where you start begging for your life (unless, of course, that’s what you feel compelled to do. I’m not sure how much that would help though. If you have done this before, contact me and let me know that it worked for you).
But rather, try and make amends the best way that you know how. If you cut someone off in traffic, and now you’re dealing with a car full of angry people…apologize and ask if there’s anything that you can do to rectify the situation.
It’s not about taking the cowardly route. But avoidance of any potential violence is always best. Don’t let your ego get you into something you can never come back from.
When you can’t avoid it
Certain body language will let you know when it’s about to go down. Removing jewelry or a hat, clenching fist, rubbing nose and walking swiftly are all signs that you’re about to get swung on.
Find anything that you can use as a weapon. An empty glass bottle, a stick or branch, or even a brick. Landing that first blow and making it count will send a message to the others that you’ll do whatever it takes to survive.
This weapon is perfect for multiple attackers
What’s the number one weapon police usually use when they’re trying to calm down an angry crowd or mob? Tear gas!
Having pepper spray on hand and ready to use could save you lots of time and energy. As long as you have plenty of pepper spray to go around, you could disable your assailants in a matter of moments. Not only that, but no one is fatally harmed.
If the pepper spray is dispensed inside of a building, you will need to leave as soon as the coast is clear. Otherwise, the pepper spray will fill your lungs and you will start a coughing fit. I’ve seen this happen before and it isn’t pretty.
This Mace gun can shoot up to 7 times from a distance of 25 feet. Imagine several people hell bent on harming you and you walking away without so much as a scratch. As with any weapon, this only works if you have it with you at the time and ready to use.
Have you ever been physically attacked by more than one person? How were you able to handle the situation?
